Kontactic Seller Center — Privacy Policy
Version 1.1 · Effective 2026-08-05
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the Kontactic Seller Center platform at app.kontactic.com (the "Platform"). We respect your privacy and aim to meet international standards, including the Republic of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the People's Republic of China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
1. Who controls your data
The data controller is Inuf Co., Ltd. (d/b/a "Kontactic"), 2F Office #462A, 47, Gangnam-daero 112-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Our affiliate Han Ce (Hangzhou) Business Consulting Co., Ltd. (USCC 91330105MAK8G72W1Q) processes payment-related information for customers in China as a joint/affiliated party. For privacy questions, contact admin@kontactic.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information generated through your use of the Platform:
- Account information: username, name, password (stored only as a secure hash), language preference.
- Company and legal identity: company legal name (Chinese and English), Unified Social Credit Code, country of incorporation, entity type, registered address.
- Representative and contact information: legal representative's name, mobile number, and email; day-to-day contact's name, mobile number, and email.
- Verification and onboarding documents you choose to provide for marketplace or entity-setup services (for example, identity documents, business license, bank statements) — handled as described in Section 6.
- Marketplace credentials: Coupang vendor code (AID) and OPEN API Access Key and Secret Key, used to operate the services you request.
- Service and contract data: plans, agreements, and records of consents and signatures.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, device/browser information, log data, and cookies (see Section 9).
We do not intentionally collect special categories of data and ask that you not submit them unless required for a specific service.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to: (a) create and manage your account and provide the Platform and the services you request; (b) generate, translate, and process documents and contracts (including AI-assisted translation of the company information you enter); (c) integrate with marketplaces such as Coupang on your behalf; (d) communicate with you, including transactional and service emails; (e) process and reconcile payments (including via Han Ce in China); (f) maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep records; and (g) comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Platform and services); your consent (for example, optional communications, and where required for processing or cross-border transfers); our legitimate interests (security, service improvement, and running our business); and compliance with legal obligations. Under PIPA and PIPL, we process personal information based on your consent and as necessary to perform our contract with you, and we obtain separate consent where the law requires (including for cross-border transfers).
5. Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the Platform:
- Marketplaces (e.g., Coupang) — to provide the services you request and operate your seller account using credentials you authorize.
- Affiliates — Kontactic and Han Ce, for the roles described above.
- Service providers (sub-processors) that process data on our behalf under contract, including: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (application hosting), OpenAI (AI processing of the company information you submit, to produce official English/romanized text), and Resend (transactional email delivery).
- Professional advisers, authorities, and others where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and security; and in connection with a corporate transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition).
6. International data transfers
The Kontactic Group operates between the Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China, and our service providers may process data in other countries. As a result, your personal information may be transferred across borders — including between China and Korea, and to service providers located elsewhere. Where required, we obtain your separate consent and put in place appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures) consistent with PIPL, PIPA, and the GDPR. By using the Platform and providing consent at signup, you acknowledge these transfers.
7. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform and services, then retain it only as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it. Contract and consent records may be retained for the statutory limitation periods.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and row-level access restrictions in our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your credentials confidential and notify us of any suspected compromise.
9. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. We do not use them to track you across third-party sites. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling necessary cookies may affect how the Platform works.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction or deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; request a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). To exercise your rights, contact admin@kontactic.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission). We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
11. Children
The Platform is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, in-app or by email) and update the version above. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance, except where consent is required by law.
